Definition

  • Kaeku or Kaiku is a Bantu language spoken in Democratic Republic of the Congo. It belongs to the Bilaic subgroup, and together with Amba and Bira, these three varieties make up the Komoic sub-branch, which is classified within the Volta-Congo primary branch. Like other Bantu languages, Kaeku has a noun class system, a characteristic feature of languages belonging to the Atlantic–Congo lineage, the largest demonstrated language family in Africa.
