Enwan (Edu State)

Definition

  • Enwan (Edo State) is an Edoid language spoken in Edo State in Nigeria. With Ikpeshi and Ivbie North-Okpela-Arhe, it forms the Ikpeshic subgroup. Similar to the more well-known Bantu languages, Edoid languages also feature noun class systems, which are a key characteristic used to identify the broader Atlantic–Congo language family, to which Enwan belongs as part of the Volta–Congo primary branch.
