Bari

Definice

  • Bari is an Eastern Nilotic language spoken by the Karo peoples over large areas of Central Equatoria State in South Sudan, extending into north-western Uganda and parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Bari is spoken by several distinct tribes: the Bari proper, Pojulu, Kakwa, Nyangwara, Mundari, and Kuku (classified as a separate language by ISO 639-3). Each has its own dialect. The language is therefore sometimes called Karo or Kutuk ('mother tongue') rather than Bari.
